CEE Department Hosts Industry Leadership Night
On November 28, 2012, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the CEE Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) hosted Industry Leadership Night. Over 90 alumni, friends, faculty, and students of the department attended. The keynote speaker was Sam Sleiman, Director of Capital Programs and Environmental Affairs at the Massachusetts Port Authority. Director Sleiman (see photograph) presented a vision for government-consulting-academic partnerships to address new solutions for resilient infrastructure. The primary host for the event was Christine Keville, president of Keville Enterprises and a member of the CEE Industrial Advisory Board. Jerry Hajjar, chair of the department, provided an overview of the department activities, summarizing the recent departmental growth in faculty, students, and facilities, and highlighting the department’s strong ties with industry. Special thanks to everyone who attended the event to help make it a success.
