CEE Faculty and Students Win Best Paper Award

Congratulations to COE Distinguished Professor Ming Wang, Research Assistant Professor Ralf Birken, and CEE student Salar Shahini Shamsabadi, who were awarded the Best Paper award at the recent Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP 2014), attended by over 400 geophysicists, environmental experts, and engineers. Their paper, “PAVEMON: A GIS- Based Data Management System for Pavement Monitoring Based on Large Amounts of Near-Surface Geophysical Sensor Data,” introduces a way to handle all of the information gathered from Versatile Onboard Traffic Embedded Roaming Sensors (VOTERS Center) and translate the data into meaningful knowledge.
